Mission: 7 summits in 365 days

For 16 year-old John Collinson life has been spent in the mountains, winter and summer. He was on skis at 2 1/2, and at the age of 4 he summitted Mt. Rainier. He has gone on to climb 200 large western mountains, which on many he holds the youngest age record. For John, summiting Mt. Everest is something he has only dreamt of. Climbing to the top of the Seven Summits (the highest mountains on each of the seven continents) seems like it would be the greatest physical feat he could accomplish.

I will acompany Johnny on this mission to climb the 7 summits in 365 days at the same time we will try to ski some of them. Aconcagua went first with Willie, they climbed from camp 2 to the summit and back down to base cam, from base camp to Mendoza in 12 hs!

In April/May we climbed Everest and in June 25 we summited and skied Denali from the summit ridge. On July 8 we climbed Mt Elbrus from 3700 meters in 4,35″ and ski from the summit, as we had extra time we decided on climbing the east summit from the hotel in 4,22″

Next will be Killi and Kenya to add some rock climbing and get our self ready for Carstensz Pyramid, then we will have a rest from Sept to Oct and we will travel to S.A. to climb and ski Aconcagua to get ready for Mt Vinson.

What a year!
